Overview

Sexual harassment in the workplace can occur between men and women, people of the same sex, superiors and subordinates, even co-workers who are dating. There is no room for sexual harassment at work, and employers have adopted policies to prohibit this conduct. This training video explains what constitutes sexually harassing behavior, looks at victims and harassers, illustrates behaviors to avoid, and provides guidelines for addressing unwelcome and unwanted conduct of a sexual nature.

Employees learn how to document instances of sexual harassment and what to expect when making a formal complaint to management or the human resource department. Viewers are reminded that sexually explicit materials or suggestive conversations are inappropriate everywhere at work. The video emphasizes employees' obligations to know their co-workers boundaries and sensibilities, become familiar with the sexual harassment policy, avoid behaviors that may be offensive, and tell people if their behavior is unacceptable.

The fear of reprisal or revenge for reporting incidents is addressed, as are measures that should be taken to protect reporters against such actions. Because sexual harassment can be overt or subtle, and may not be intentional, the training stresses the imperative to always treat co-workers with respect. This training equips employees to recognize when their own behavior may be offensive, while explaining how to deal with unwanted and unwelcome behavior before problems escalate. Provide all your employees with this course and set the tone for a harassment-free workplace.
