Safety Leadership & New Hire Safety Essentials

To maintain a culture of safety at the workplace leaders must maintain and set a good example for everyone. It also helps if employees are put in the safety mindset from day one. Mastery released two new courses this month to help keep safety a top priority.


“Safety Leadership: An Essential Safety Element” helps learners facilitate a culture of safety to prevent accidents and injuries. The course explores the challenges of human nature and how to promote a safety culture by setting a good example and acting when someone isn’t being safe.


New Hire Safety Essentials” offers new employees an overview of safety procedures and common workplace hazards. For example, some of the lessons cover topics like PPE, confined space awareness, fire prevention, and bloodborne pathogens.

Dealing with Hazardous Spills

Hazardous materials can be found in most workplaces, even something as simple as a cleaning product can be a hazardous material. This new course, “Dealing with Hazardous Spills,” covers how to identify hazardous spills, and gives those in a workplace surrounded by chemicals a basic understanding of the actions needed to take place in a HAZMAT situations.


The course demonstrates how to characterize a spill, clean up a spill, deal with special hazards, go through decontamination, and waste disposal.
